Thriller Convention
o The protagonist is seen in serious and immediate
danger.
o Themes of identity are common -> mistake identity, doppelganger (identical face), and
amnesia.
o The protagonist id is not perfect -> has an Achilles/ weakness this is exploited.
o The narrative centers upon crime, theft or murder
o The antagonist ensnares the protagonist in an
increasingly complete web, leaving them helpless and isolated.
o The audience is placed in the ambiguous position of
voyeur (pervert).
